BEST PRACTICES FOR STORE POLICIES - YEAR ROUND
It is crucial that your store policies such as shipping time frames and costs as well as your return policies are properly displayed in your physical storefront and easy to find on your website. It's also important that this information is concise and to the point so that customers will be able to quickly find the information they are looking for.
Doing so will help minimize customer complaints and make potential customers more likely to buy since many are hesitate to try new shops (especially online) because of unclear policies.
On your website, consider putting an easy to find link both in the footer of your website as well as in the top bar navigation. In your physical storefront or any pop-up shops you may be doing, display your return/exchange policy at checkout.
On your shipping information page on your website, make sure to put local/store pickup and delivery information if that is something you offer in addition to shipping costs and timeframes. If you offer pre-orders, make sure to be clear of the arrival date on the product page and note the (potentially) different shipping timeframes and return policies for those items both on the policy page.
If you are on Shopify, simply go to "Sales Channels" >> "Online Store" >> "Pages" >> then "Add Page." Once the is done, go to "Navigation" in that same Online Store area and add it to both your main menu and footer menu. See screenshots below for a visual if needed.
NOTE: If you do not see "Navigation" under "Online Store" then look for "Content" >> then "Menus" to click on as shown in the second screenshot.
Be sure to also keep the Policy Pages customers see at checkout up to date and also put your Shipping & Returns link(s) on the product pages if your Shopify theme allows for that. See the screenshots below for reference, but simply go to "Settings" >> then click "Policies" to make sure your information is up-to-date there.
NOTE: I only recommend using the Shopify policy templates for your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
